The Photographers’ Gallery

Helping The Photographers’ Gallery to expand and grow

Completion of this project provided the gallery with the accommodation they have always wanted, which included new gallery space, educational space, offices, a cafe, and a shop.
Stanhope were involved in helping the gallery purchase a new site, and helping design, plan and deliver a new gallery fit for the purpose of an expanding cultural institution. Working with the gallery various options were considered against their funding constraints and eventually opting for an imaginative refurbishment and extension of an existing building in the heart of the West End. The move has allowed them to display works and hold exhibitions that were not possible in their previous space.
The work was undertaken in partnership with The Photographers’ Gallery and architects O’Donnell + Tuomey.
