Broadgate

Raising the bar for large-scale urban development in The City

At Broadgate, Stanhope created a new commercial precinct across 29 acres. The project included 12 new buildings, pedestrian routes, three new public squares, an arena and extensive public art.
The work pioneered new approaches to estate management, setting new industry standards that have become thriving parts of the industry. British Land now owns Broadgate and has taken forward the masterplan and expanded the estate with new developments to the north, including the Broadgate Tower.
Broadgate has received more than 30 awards for architectural, cultural, and environmental excellence including the Arts Council Working for Cities award in 1991 and 2000, and British Council’s Best Commercial Office Building in 1992.
The project was undertaken with partners including Arup, British Land and Rosehaugh Stanhope Developments PLC.
