5 Hanover Square

Creating contemporary urban office space in the style of a sophisticated London townhouse

The redevelopment involved taking a prominent site into the 21st century, working with the plot to create office space, a ground-floor art gallery, and five residential apartments.
Replacing a 1960s building, the redevelopment mimicked the facade of a classic London townhouse to help reflect the building’s context within Hanover Square. Italian artist, Esther Stocker, was involved in installing artwork to the building’s exterior.
5 Hanover Square marked Mitsui Fudosan's first project in the UK and was given the LABC Building Excellence Award for Best Small Commercial Building in 2013.
The project was undertaken with partners Mitsui Fudosan, Mace, Faber Maunsell, and Gardiner & Theobold.
