Sustainability Beyond Buildings

At Stanhope we believe sustainability is about far more than meeting targets. Although we consistently exceed industry standards for recycling, energy efficiency, water consumption and more, this is just a small part of the bigger picture we need to consider.

We believe sustainable developments will attract occupiers and investors and engage with the local environment.

Sustainable developments will last, proving to be flexible and adaptable to change and cost-effective to operate.

And of course, they will be environmentally responsible.

We are determined to take a broader view of development to ensure our projects make sense in a lower carbon and resource constrained world.

Many of the factors that go into truly sustainable developments are by their nature difficult to measure, such as longevity, attractiveness and sensitivity to location. We will continue to measure our progress against industry benchmarks and report the performance of our projects, as well as working to ensure our projects stand the test of time.

Stanhope is a founding member of the UK Green Building Council and a strategic investor with Climate Change Capital in a “green” property investment vehicle.

The success of our projects to date proves to us that sustainable practice makes good business sense.
